Sanford L. Cook, CPP – President
Thermal Packaging Solutions, LLCMr. Cook is a consulting and product development resource to the bio-pharmaceutical packaging industries and is President of Thermal Packaging Solutions, LLC. He has been the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Engineer and Chief Marketing Executive for global, public and private companies engaged in the design, documentation, validation, testing and manufacturing of economical, packaging, devices, refrigerants, monitors and operations processes that protect sensitive products against weather and handling vulnerabilities as well as anti-diversion systems during shipping and storage for over 25 years.
An engineer and a graduate of Business Management, Rutgers University, he holds many patents in the fields of Thermal Dynamics and devices mentioned above especially in the area of cold chain. He has written and published many articles and papers, given numerous speeches, been featured in various national and local media events including the Discovery Channel’s Medical Series, Bloomberg Television, ABC News, News Channel 12, the cover page of the Health Section of the Newark Sunday Star Ledger, The Wall Street Journal and led seminars to industry and government groups interested in these subjects, primarily in the bio-pharmaceutical, food, appliance and medical device segments.
Mr. Cook is a past officer in the Institute of Packaging Professionals, Consultant’s Council.
Teri Magennis MS, CPP
Magennis Associates, LLCMs. Magennis has a Masters Degree in the Management of Technology with a concentration in Packaging and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her education and experience include hospital to home care medical fields plus specialty packaging. She has a record of achievement in creation and improvement of packaging to protect, transport and display chemicals, foods and biologics that remain safe at moderate, refrigerated, and frozen temperatures from ambient environments. She has been active in supporting all phases of bio-pharmaceutical package development including R&D, regulatory filing, launch, documentation and “On-Market Maintenance.” Among other positions, Ms. Magennis was the Manager of Package Engineering and Graphic Design for a major pharmaceutical corporation and Manager of Clinical Packaging for global pharmaceuticals. She has created successful results in various aspects of development and manufacturing plans in addition to overall implementing costs savings programs. She has frequently combined her medical and packaging experience to enhance Market Research and Market Development directives. Teri is a past officer in the Institute of Packaging Professionals, Consultant’s Council.
Joseph Villa
The Design CooperativeMr. Villa is a consultant to the health care/ pharmaceutical industry as well as the food packaging industry. Over the span of his career, he has been the vice president, COO, and founder of a major manufacturing company servicing the Pharma industry, the director of engineering and sales manager for a large industrial equipment manufacturer. He has numerous packaging design/application patents in the field of temperature control as well as industrial equipment, many of which are still in production. Joseph has co-authored many industry papers and lectured in seminars concerning temperature control and its associated aspects of cold chain management.
