    Materials of primary package
(note: it is important to know the primary materials: If not glass, are they plastic, metal tubes and how much of the container is filled – how much is air)
If a tube, it is important to know approximate percentage of air remaining in tube after it is sealed and number of tubes per secondary package.
If liquid, approximately how much is water?
  • Quantities of each shipment per day, per week, etc.
  • Is FedEx or UPS the primary shipper or will it be a common carrier?
  • Are there specific shock and vibration requirements or is the basic requirement to just arrive undamaged?
  • Is it possible that the package is opened and or repacked before the final distribution?
  • Size and weight of payload (interior without temperature control materials) in each secondary package?
  • Are there protocols or SOP’s now in place?
